Last week, as a tie in to the Moriah Reads program, and in conjunction with the ZOA (Zionist Organization of America), some of the Moriah middle school students wrote and decorated letters to IDF and lone soldiers in Israel, who are situated at bases which are seldom visited due to their locations. It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to focus on gratitude toward those who protect Israel.

Art teacher Morah Gila Bretter was contacted directly by the ZOA to participate in this special program. Along with the sixth graders, Moriah third and fifth graders will be sending their letters of encouragement and thanks, as well as artwork, to IDF soldiers this week. The students are eagerly awaiting their reply!
