In social studies class, the Moriah sixth graders have been learning all about archaeology. In this unit, the students are challenged to answer the question, “How do we know what happened in the past?” The class learned that archaeologists examine artifacts and the remains of past civilizations in order to solve the mystery of what happened long ago. This week, students had the amazing opportunity to apply their skills by actually excavating their own in-class archaeological dig. Everyone had a great time discovering and analyzing artifacts just like archaeologists!
