Moriah Sixth Grade Enjoys Bat Mitzvah Celebration

Mazal tov to the Moriah sixth-grade girls as they celebrated their bat mitzvah year together with their teachers and mothers. The evening began with Tehillim and a delicious dinner from Dougie’s. The girls completed a chesed project as they filled beautiful gift bags with games for hospital-bound people who, unfortunately due to COVID, cannot receive many visitors at this time. Sincere hand-written cards were included in each bag.

The girls then met their mothers outside on the Moriah field, which had been transformed into an elegant garden paint studio. Nikki Sausen of “Paint With Me!” led the group as they painted a floral scene that will serve as a keepsake of this special evening. Rebecca Isak, Stella Zavodnick and Rabbi Alter, head of school, gave divrei Torah, speaking of the unique mitzvot dedicated to women.

Mrs. Boim, associate principal, middle school, introduced the special gift that they were about to receive: a full set of machzorim to be used and treasured for many years to come. Each young lady had a moment in the spotlight as she was called up to receive her special bat mitzvah gift from her Moriah class. Mazal tov to all and thank you to the Moriah Association of Parents and the sixth-grade parent committee for organizing this memorable event!
