After learning so many amazing things about Rosh Hashanah, students got a visit from the shofar factory! The children saw pictures of different kosher animals where the shofar comes from. There were many different sizes, and they all made different noises! The class called out the special names of the shofar- tekiah, shevarim and teruah. Some friends were even asked to help make a shofar! Each child put on protective eyewear, as well as gloves. Together with the rabbi, the children cut off the tip of the horn and made a hole in the middle. Then the children sanded the shofar to make it smooth and shiny.
