After several decades in the diamond wholesale industry, Colin Coates of Teaneck and Roy Mazuz of Pomona, New York have collaborated to establish The Mountain Jewels. The Mountain Jewels team has developed an easy to navigate website, www.mountainjewels.com,

where consumers can choose from a wide range of lab-grown diamond jewelry.

Mountain Jewels offers diamond studs, hoop earrings, necklaces, tennis bracelets, eternity rings and engagement rings for all occasions. Prices, based on the current market price of lab-grown diamonds and the carat weight of each piece, are shown for transparency. Knowledgeable consumers will immediately see the value they are getting.

In addition to the collection on the website, Mountain Jewels makes custom pieces to customer specifications. Coates and Mazuz can meet clients in person or by phone to plan custom designs. “We consult with clients at every step, from mountings to diamonds, so they get the piece of jewelry they are visualizing and are thrilled with the results,” said Coates.

After extensive research, Coates and Mazur realized that they could offer high-quality lab-grown diamond jewelry at much lower prices than customers would find elsewhere. “Lab-grown diamonds look and feel exactly like natural diamonds. They should be purchased to make the wearer look beautiful and feel like a million dollars, like you would buy designer clothes or a luxury car,” said Coates. “They are not investments with a high resale value, yet most sellers of lab-grown diamonds are pricing them this way. They are overcharging customers, taking advantage of their lack of knowledge of the actual value. Our lab-grown diamond jewelry combines beauty with affordability. The diamonds are sourced globally directly from the laboratories, and we personally sort our diamonds to ensure only the best quality products are offered.”

Coates, from South Africa, began his career as a diamond broker in 1982 at age 18, establishing a global network of dealers and jewelers. Mazuz, originally from Israel, started in the diamond and jewelry industry in 2003 at age 23 with his uncle before becoming an independent dealer. Their partnership through numerous transactions over many years led to the formation of Mountain Jewels. Their combined experience and expertise in the industry ensures consistently reliable work and customer satisfaction.

Coates shared his passion for the diamond industry and its challenges. “Wholesale diamond transactions are simple: I buy, pay, sell and get paid. It’s about selecting quality diamonds at the right price for specific customers,” he said. “Jewelry production requires precision from design to creation, choosing the right shapes, sizes and quality of diamonds for a stunning finished product. We are committed to satisfying our customers with jewelry that is beautiful and timeless with exceptional quality and value.”
