MTA seniors participating in the “Names, Not Numbers©” elective course led a meaningful Yom HaShoah program for the entire yeshiva. Each senior visited a different shiur and shared the stories of the Holocaust survivors they interviewed for the documentary film they are creating. They described what it was like to hear these first-hand accounts and what it means to them to take on the responsibility of making sure that these stories are never forgotten. They discussed the importance of being the “witnesses to the witnesses” by learning about the Holocaust and passing on their knowledge through their documentary and encouraged theur fellow talmidim to join them in serving as upstanders who will actively work to prevent prejudice, hatred, intolerance and injustice.
