Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) alum Akiva Axel (‘16) met with Morah Haibi’s MTA eleventh and twelfth grade talmidim to have a discussion in Hebrew. Akiva is currently in Yeshiva Mechinat Otzem. Yeshiva Mechinat Otzem is a pre-military Torah Academy in the southern part of Israel. Akiva explained to the students the importance of learning Hebrew in order to communicate in Israel. He shared his experiences—all in Hebrew—about the hardships he had while learning the language, but at the same time how rewarding it was for him. It was a wonderful experience for the students to not only showcase the Hebrew they had learned, but it also helped their confidence in their ability to communicate.
