MTA Beats Hillel in a Close Overtime

On Sunday, November 1, MTA Lions varsity basketball played their second game of the season against Hillel Heat. Hillel proved to be a worthy opponent. For most of the game, Hillel managed to keep a strong lead against MTA for the first three quarters. But the MTA Lions did not give up hope. In the last quarter of the game, the Lions caught up to the Heat, and for the remainder of the game they matched the Heat point for point. In the last ten seconds of the game, Hillel was up by two. With the ball in MTA’s possession, the Lions race down the court. Yehuda Colton (#34) grabbed the rebound from a missed layup and scored, tying the game at forty-four points, causing the game to go into overtime. With new hope and courage, the MTA Lions defeated the Hillel Heat, 54-46. The top scorers on the MTA Lions were Yehuda Colton with 22 points and Binyamin Buchbinder (#11) with 9 points. The Lions eagerly wait for their next game against HANC on November 7 in the MAX.
