MTA Debate Team Wins Big at Annual Heschel Debate

The MTA debate team demonstrated their eloquence and prowess once again at the annual Heschel debate on Wednesday, March 6, which included more than 10 yeshiva high schools from the greater New York City area. MTA won seven out of eight matches, which was a great follow-up to the team’s First Place School win at last month’s tournament at Yeshiva of Flatbush. Seniors on the team paired with freshman team members to debate the topic of public vs. private prisons. Several team members took home trophies, including senior Benny Mermel, Third Place Negative Speaker; senior Nadav Heller and freshman Eli Canter, Second Place Affirmative Speakers and Second Place Overall Team. MTA is so proud of the entire debate team and looks forward to seeing their future successes.
