Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

This past week, 11th-grade talmidim at MTA brought history to life as they researched key moments of the Cold War. Working in groups, talmidim delved into major events that defined the tense rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union, showcasing their knowledge through engaging and well-prepared presentations.

Talmidim explored topics such as the Arms Race, the Space Race, the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act, the Eisenhower Doctrine, the U-2 Spy Plane Incident, the Bay of Pigs Invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Their research provided insight into the political, military and technological competition that shaped the second half of the 20th century, emphasizing the global impact of these historic events.

Beyond simply recounting facts, talmidim demonstrated a deep understanding of the broader implications of Cold War conflicts and policies. Through their work, they honed valuable skills in research, collaboration and public speaking while gaining a greater appreciation for the historical forces that continue to shape the world today. Thank you Mrs. Benjamin for helping the talmidim gain a deeper understanding of some of the major events that helped shape 20th century US History.
