On Sunday, December 30, the MTA JV basketball Lions traveled to Deal to play against the Hillel Heat. Coming off a huge win against TABC, the Lions were all fired up, knowing they could easily defeat the Heat. Sophomore starter Yosef Zakon was out sick and sophomore Ben Platovsky stepped in to the starting lineup, where he played with no mistakes. Throughout the first half, both benches were shocked with the Nikola Jokic-like passes from freshman Dani Wolk. Leading into halftime, the score was 25-3 Lions. Players on the bench took their turn on the court in the second half of the game. Freshman Eli Sheer and sophomore Shai Friedman led the offense, while freshman Gershon Colton and sophomore Akiva Coan pulled boards both on the offensive and defensive glass. The MTA JV Lions came out victorious, with a final score of 54-22. The Lions look forward to their next game against Frisch on Sunday, January 6.
