The MTA JV basketball Lions traveled to Elizabeth to take on the RTMA Thunder on Sunday, October 4. The JV Lions got off to a hot start early in the game, connecting on several baskets by guards Yosef Zakon (‘21) and Shua Alexander (‘22). On the defensive end, the Lions contained RTMA’s all-star caliber center with a great defensive effort from sophomores Tani Engel, Azriel Goldberg and Akiva Coan. The Lions continued to share the wealth on the offensive end in the second half and pulled away with some key baskets from Dani Wolk (‘22) down the stretch. The Lions brought home the win with a final score of 46-31. The Lions hope to continue their winning streak on Sunday as they open up at home against MAOR.
