MTA recently launched its annual Rabbi Hyman Arbesfeld (‘49) z”l Scholarship Campaign as a way for the entire MTA community to ensure that the MTA experience is accessible to all talmidim in a respectful and dignified manner. “When we celebrated our yeshiva-wide seudas preidah two years ago as the culmination of our very first scholarship campaign, Rabbi Arbesfeld spoke at the event and described his experience as a scholarship recipient at MTA,” shared Head of School Rabbi Joshua Kahn. “He communicated his passion for talmud Torah, as well as the importance of making this opportunity accessible to everyone. His sense of hakaras hatov was remarkable and he genuinely personified the sentiments he shared. It is a truly fitting tribute for our scholarship campaign to bear Rabbi Arbesfeld’s name.”
For more than 100 years, MTA has proudly served as pioneers on the forefront of Jewish education, providing talmidim with excellence in talmud Torah, academics and co-curricular activities. Giving each talmid this opportunity to develop as a ben Torah through a holistic and strong yeshiva education is truly a life changing experience. As part of the campaign, MTA is offering special opportunities for alumni and grandparents. Alumni are invited to join the MTA Alumni Circle, where they can directly help current talmidim in need of scholarships, while staying connected with the yeshiva through unique alumni programming. Grandparents are invited to join the MTA Grandparents Giving Circle, where their gifts will support the campaign and they will have the chance to engage with the yeshiva throughout the year and receive messages from their grandson’s rebbeim and tickets to the YUHS Annual Dinner of Tribute.
The Rabbi Hyman Arbesfeld (‘49) Z”L Scholarship Campaign will culminate with MTA’s annual Day of Giving, which will be held on May 25-26. This student-run event enables talmidim to learn first-hand about philanthropy, leadership and the importance of giving back to others. All gifts will be matched 1:1 from now through May 26. Donate now at yu.edu/mtascholarships and help make the next four years the best years of a talmid’s life!
