MTA Lions Host Senior Night

In advance of their final home game of the 2014-15 season against the Magen David Warriors, MTA family and friends paid tribute to the senior athletes on the team. About ten minutes before tip-off, longtime Lions Head Coach Daniel Gibber stepped onto half court of the famed Johnny Halpert Court, home of the MTA Lions and YU Maccabees, and called out each player who was then presented with a special plaque. The game marked the final regular season game of Coach Gibber’s storied career; Gibber will be retiring after 17 incredible seasons coaching for MTA. His final games will take place at this year’s Yeshiva University Red Sarachek Basketball Tournament. I

n the game itself, the Lions fought back in the second half to overcome a double-digit deficit to tie the score, but unfortunately fell just short.
