MTA Lions Take Down Flatbush 4-0 in Quarterfinal Shutout

The MTA Lions came into the playoff semifinals locked in, and they showed it on the field with a huge 4-0 win over Flatbush on their home turf. With the win, MTA moves on to the championship game.

Eytan Richman was absolutely dominant on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout with 7 strikeouts and zero walks. He had total control the whole time and made it really tough for Flatbush to get anything going.

The scoring started early for the Lions. In the second inning, Yosef Rosenberg got things going with a double, then stole third and was driven in by a clutch double from Shimmy Itzkowitz. That gave MTA a 1-0 lead and they never looked back.

In the third, Chaim Simon added another run. He singled, got to second on an error, moved to third on an Andi Richman single, and then scored on a sac fly from Yehuda Klavan. Just solid baseball all around.

The Lions weren’t done. In the fourth, Itzkowitz reached on an error, stole second, then got all the way to third on another error. Mark Rosenstock came up and knocked him in with a single to make it 3-0.

The last run came in the sixth. Rosenberg led off with his second hit of the day, then showed off the wheels by stealing second and third. Aitan Goldberg came up and drove him in with a sac fly to put the Lions up 4-0.

It was just a super clean game from MTA. Great pitching, smart base running, most of the time, and timely hitting. Now they’re off to the semi finals, and they’re ready.
