With one victory and one loss, the MTA Mock Trial Team held their breath as they went into Round 3 of the New York Mock Trial Tournament. Winning this round meant that the team would advance and potentially make it to the Finals.
The team did not disappoint. The witnesses, Larry Likhtenstein, Shimmy Mandelbaum, and Mendel Weintraub, showed the courtroom what it really means to be a great witness. They thought on their feet and knew their material well. The lawyers, CJ Glicksman, Ben-Tzion Zuckier, and Avraham Tsikhanovski, presented sharply pointed arguments, while allowing their opponents, the Global Collaborative High School, no quarter.
With each team-member putting in his best, the team put up a victory against Global, advancing to the next round of the playoffs. There are now just 32 remaining high schools in New York City!
The boys were thrilled by the win, and thankful for the hard work and dedication of their coach, Senior Attorney at the Special Funds Conservation Committee Mr. Noah Pollack, who helped and guided the team every step of the way. The boys eagerly await their next match in April, and with the guidance of Mr. Pollack, to securing a victory once more.
