MTA’s First Semester Study Night Is a Huge Success

On Tuesday night, January 10, Yeshiva University High School for Boys’ (MTA) Arista National Honors Society held their semi-annual study night, organized with the help of faculty advisor Mrs. Harriet Levitt. Each semester, the Arista scholars organize a special program where students and members of the faculty stay late in school to prepare for their upcoming final semester exams. Study night allows students to feel prepared and confident for their upcoming exams by providing a close-knit atmosphere to study with friends and teachers in smaller, more intimate, groups where they can ask questions on different subjects. While the program is optional, nearly the entire student body and faculty participate. Once, again the program was a huge success.

Study night began with pizza from Lake Como sponsored by the Arista National Honors Society. After filling up, the students then had the opportunity to come and go as they pleased to multiple review sessions taught by their teachers, divided into three, hour-long sessions throughout the night. Simultaneously, students also had the choice to study for their exams in the library with the Arista peer-tutors, where they could work one-on-one with an upperclassman. Throughout the night, there was an amazing buzz and excitement of learning emanating throughout Zysman Hall. When the night ended, the MTA students were upbeat and ready to tackle their exams.
