On Wednesday, February 3, seven students from Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) joined YUPAC on the annual Yeshiva University lobbying trip to Washington, D.C. After a training session earlier in the week, the students were ready to pitch to their congressmen the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship. After arriving in Washington, the delegation gathered in the AIPAC headquarters to hear lobbying advice from a seasoned AIPAC lobbyist.

The MTA delegates delivered their talking points with clarity and confidence. The day ended with a fascinating visit to the Israeli embassy in Washington where the YUPAC representatives heard from staffers at the embassy.

Although the bus ride was long, and sleep was compromised, the trip was rewarding. Mr. Avi Matanky chaperoned the MTA Delegation and took the students on a spontaneous visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
