On Tuesday, May 5, MTA’s Sports Management Club hosted a Q&A session with alum Stan Kasten (‘69). Former president of the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals, Kasten is currently the president and part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Long involved in Atlanta professional sports, he also served as general manager of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and president of the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers. Kasten, an MTA alumnus, answered questions from talmidim, parents and faculty about his greatest accomplishments, his years at MTA, how to be shomer Shabbos in the professional sports industry, and a variety of other topics. The only professional to be named back-to-back NBA Executive of the Year in the league’s history, Kasten also offered advice on how to deal with challenges, bad luck and criticism. Talmidim enjoyed participating in this interactive discussion and learning from such a successful MTA alumnus.
