(MTA Sports) The MTA varsity basketball Lions, entering the final two games of the regular season, looked to bounce back from two losses and go into the playoffs on a nice win streak. A home playoff game was on the line on Wednesday night, February 16, as the Lions took on the Hillel Heat in the Max Stern Athletic Center. Although it was the night two of back-to-back games, MTA still brought the incredible energy they needed to win the game. The Lions started off strong, slowly building up to a lead, but Hillel was right there trying to stop them. In the third quarter, MTA sprung ahead on a few quick and easy buckets down low and didn’t look back. Hillel had a few chances at the end, but MTA stepped up on defense to secure the win.
