(MTA Sports) Coming off of a loss, tie and many rained out games, the MTA Lions varsity softball team arrived at their game on Wednesday, May 12, with a hunger to win against Frisch. Coming into the game, their coach, Rabbi Konigsberg, pumped up the team, encouraging great play and the win. In the first two innings, the game went dry for the Lions, who grounded out and into the gap— and advanced on a tag up to second base on a high pop fly by junior Avi Fessel, which was caught by Frisch. Then junior Eitan Warum walked and junior Shmuel Rosenthal hit a hard hit line drive to right field that scored Book and Warum. That was all the Lions needed. Although Frisch scored a run in the fifth inning, MTA held on to grab their first of what will hopefully be many wins this season.
