MTA Welcomes Makor Chaim Exchange Students

On Wednesday, February 3, Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) welcomed four boys from Yeshivat Makor Chaim in Eretz Yisrael with a lavish breakfast for the junior class. The breakfast included Dunkin Donuts and hashbrowns.

The program began with a dvar Torah from the menahel of Makor Chaim, Rabbi David Rabinovich, followed by a warm greeting from Rabbi Taubes. After hearing from the rebbeim, Makor Chaim boys brought out their guitars and taught a new song to the juniors, with the help of Rabbi Mendelson. To conclude the program, Seth Jacobs gave a dvar Torah; he said that both the MTA students and the four visiting boys can gain from one another.

The Makor Chaim students are visiting for five weeks and the program has already started off with a bang. Equipped with their guitars, the Makor students led a Thursday afternoon kumzits, or what they call “Likrat Shabbat” in their yeshiva, to help everyone prepare for Shabbos.
