MTA’s Hatzioni Club Runs Two Successful Sukkot Fundraisers

In the week leading up to Sukkot, Hatzioni, MTA’s Israel Club, kept themselves busy raising money through two different fundraisers. Teaneck Sophmore Reuven Penn organized a raffle to support Friends of the IDF, an organization that provides support to IDF troops, veterans, and families through various types of programming. The grand prize for the winner of the raffle was two tickets to see Maccabi Tel Aviv take on the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center on Tuesday, October 7th. The funds raised by the raffle will go towards supporting lone soldiers currently serving in the IDF and families of fallen soldiers. Given the success of this year’s campaign, Hatzioni plans to run similar raffles for Knicks and Rangers tickets later this year.

Hatzioni also teamed up with Sukkahscenes.com to sell vinyl Succah posters of Chayalim davening at the Kotel. Thanks to the hard work of many club members, the boys were able to sell out their inventory, generating $600 in sales, a portion of which will be donated to the One Israel Fund, an organization that provides social, educational, and logistical support to Israeli soldiers and communities.
