MVP Girls Camp, the premier Jewish Orthodox basketball camp for girls, under the direction of Irv Bader and Judah and Carol Rhine, is located at beautiful Camp Seneca Lake. Brand new for 2018 we are excited to announce that we have extended the girls basketball and tennis program to five days. MVP Girls Basketball Camp is open to players with all levels of ability in grades sixth through 11th. Our campers come from all schools throughout the tri-state area and benefit from MVP’s experienced staff and guest instructors.
MVP Girls basketball track emphasizes the fundamentals of the game through clinics, drills and skills competitions. We offer and stress the importance of individual, as well as team, growth. The jam-packed daily schedule features instruction, league games by division as well as 3 on 3, 2 on 2, 1 on 1 contests, and the annual MVP endurance challenge for the senior division.
MVP Girls tennis, limited to 25 campers, provides a focused specialized program for its participants including individualized instruction clinics and practice time, skills competitions, single matches and doubles matches.
The grounds and facilities at Camp Seneca Lake are second to none, with air conditioned bunks and shul. Facilities include the new Seneca Center Dome, special MVP basketball and tennis courts, the favorite Seneca Park with stadium seating—all lit for night play, in addition to other indoor courts. MVP campers enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools featuring the GIANT Seneca slide and poolside Jacuzzi, in addition to various activities at the beautiful Seneca Lake.
Delicious and gourmet glatt kosher meals are served in the air conditioned dining room. Every afternoon, the line forms at the Seneca Sprinkles Ice Cream Parlor, which is open to all. Following exciting night games, matches and individual skills competitions, the famous MVP nighttime BBQs take place at the brand new state-of-the-art canteen. One night activity, the girls go on a special surprise trip. On the final day of camp, the championship games and matches take place for each division. Following the games and lunch, the five days of MVP culminate in the annual closing awards ceremony, where trophies are distributed to champions, including the MVP awards in each of the league divisions.
Every MVP Girls participant will receive a reversible MVP jersey or MVP tennis shirt – this year featuring the new MVP 10th anniversary logo. They will also receive special surprise gifts before boarding the buses home.
In previewing this year’s MVP Girls season, Co-Director Judah Rhine stated, “MVP Girls is a separate camp from our MVP Boys camp. Last year, introducing the tennis track was a huge success. This year, due to much demand, we are excited to announce that we have expanded our girls program to five days. MVP Girls is a very special all-girls program that has something for everyone. Every camper is truly an MVP.”
