MVP Hosts Two Events on Memorial Day Weekend

(Courtesy of MVP) MVP celebrated Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day weekend with two exciting Zoom events.

Sunday featured boy basketball players from yeshiva day school teams competing in a unique 5-3-1 Challenge.

The creative and interactive event featured players shooting hoops in their backyards and driveway baskets in Scarsdale; Woodmere; Great Neck; Allenhurst; Long Eddy, New York; Union Dale, Pennsylvania; Brooklyn; Highland Park and Toms River.

Throughout the event players, from grades six through eight, competed in the 5-3-1 Challenge while also interacting on Zoom with their friends from other schools.

Congratulations to all the boys who participated. Special shout outs to sixth grade champion Nate Meyer from HAFTR and second place Noah Hiltzik from Ramaz. Tied for third were Gavriel Pelcowitz from YHT and Charlie Sasson from NSHA; Seventh/eighth grade champion Leyad Terrin from Hillel and second place was Zach Brem from SAR; third place was Ben Rabe from HALB.

Monday featured girl basketball players taking their turn for the 5-3-1 Challenge.

This event featured girls from New Hempstead; Teaneck; Oakhurst; Englewood; Great Neck; Riverdale; Bergenfield; Long Eddy, New York; New Rochelle; New Milford; Berkeley Heights and Deal.

The players, from grades six through high school, competed in the 5-3-1 Challenge while also interacting on Zoom with their friends from other schools.

Congratulations to all the girls who participated. Special shout outs to sixth grade champion Alex Magense from SAR, second place Sarah Silver from Yavneh and third place Maya Wahrhaftig from He’Atid. Seventh/eighth grade champion Samantha Pruzansky from He’Atid, second place Tali Zelkowitz from SAR and third place Lois Rifkin from NSHA; high school champion Simone Amkraut from YOF and second place Esther Mizrachi also from YOF.

Special thanks to all the parents who served not only as cheerleaders, but as camerapersons to keep the Zoom focus on their sons and daughters. Special mention to the Yeshiva League coaches who joined Zoom to watch and cheer on their players!
