Naaleh marked Yom Hazikaron with a deeply moving program. First they heard from Arik Nagel, a former IDF soldier who served for seven years and now resides in New Jersey. Mr. Nagel returned to command his troop following the events of October 7, and he shared his harrowing experiences and his commitment to defending Am Yisrael. The students then went on a reflective gallery walk. Each student received the name of a person who died on or since October 7, and they proceeded through the building to learn about these individuals’ lives. This solemn journey culminated in the ballroom, where each girl lit a candle in memory of their individual, and then the entire school community gathered in silence to listen to the siren, recite the Kel Maleh Rachamim and participate in a kumzitz. This special event truly helped the students feel a connection to the lives lost defending Eretz Yisroel.
