While learning about the witch hunts of 16th-century Europe, Naaleh’s AP Euro class conducted a spirited hunt for the evasive witches hidden amongst them, forming alliances and casting suspicions on unsuspecting victims. The goal of the exercise was to see how superstition, lack of knowledge and prejudice can lead to fear and exclusion as happened historically. Fortunately, however, the Naaleh students were enlightened enough to leave their pitchforks and torches at home, and they now better understand the value of the Scientific Revolution.
