Naaleh Enjoys Shabbaton In Cherry Hill

The Naaleh juniors enjoyed their first-ever Community Engagement Shabbaton in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The weekend was filled with meaningful interactions and shared experiences, offering both the students and the local community an opportunity for connection and growth. On Friday afternoon, the girls enjoyed pizza and bowling in Cherry Hill. Then Shabbos began and the girls led Kabbalas Shabbos for the women of the community. On Shabbos morning, the girls helped to lead the community’s youth groups, and they heard an insightful talk by Rabbi Michael Davies from Congregation Sons of Israel about his experiences being a rabbi in various small communities across the United States. Later in the day, the girls hosted an oneg for the women and girls of the community, with the theme of “Unity not Uniformity.” Aliza Davis gave a dvar Torah, and then the juniors facilitated chaburos, presenting sources and leading discussions on the topics of achdus and diversity. As Shabbos came to a close, the girls gathered for a reflective seuda shlishit and a beautiful Havdala. The Cherry Hill shabbaton was a memorable experience for all involved, highlighting the significance of the unique nuances of each community and the importance of community engagement.
