Naaleh Freshmen Visit the Met

The freshmen wrapped up their first semester of history classes with a private tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The girls explored galleries showcasing the art and history of the ancient world from Mesopotamia to Egypt and beyond. Led by tour guide Nachliel Selevan, the girls examined real artifacts from the places that they had learned about and were able to make connections to the world of Tanach, understanding how the Mesopotamia they studied in history could also be the birthplace of Avraham Avinu. Illuminated by what they had seen, the students ended off the semester with a heightened awareness of the tangibility of the past and its relevance to the history of the Jewish Nation.
