Naaleh Future Community Leaders Host Purple Day

Last Wednesday, the Naaleh students dressed in purple and learned about healthy friendships and relationships through a program run by the Shalom Task Force Future Community Leaders program. Four Naaleh juniors, Chana Aspir, Tali Isaacs, Tzeela Lifshitz and Elizabeth Wingate, took part in extensive training through the Shalom Task Force and presented an informative and engaging program describing signs of healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships to the rest of the school. They also discussed how to support friends who may be dealing with challenging or unhealthy relationships and shared the important community resources of the Shalom Task Force and Project Sarah. The 11th graders stayed for a panel discussion with Rebecca Saleman from Shalom Task Force and Cara Harmon from Project Sarah, and they had the opportunity to ask questions to experts in the field while learning more about how these concepts manifest in the lives of teenagers. The representatives from both organizations were impressed by the presentation created by the student representatives, as well as the insightful questions and high level of discussion from the entire student body.
