Naaleh Holds Meaningful Yom Iyun

On February 29, the Naaleh students were faced with a profound question: How would they make the most of the gift of an extra day? Engaging in a yom iyun dedicated to the preciousness of time, all fifth period classes were replaced with lessons exploring the concept of time, including an examination of Rav Soloveitchik’s perspective on the Jewish calendar and other significant Torah ideas about time. Following a group discussion about these classes and a powerful video underscoring the finite nature of our time on earth, the girls were inspired to seize the opportunity of the leap year’s extra day. With three groups dedicated to Torah, chesed, and tefillah, the girls worked to make their leap day count. The Torah group completed Trei Asar, the chesed group packaged mishloach manos for tzedaka, and the tefillah group recited sefer Tehillim five times over. Through their concerted efforts, the Naaleh students not only utilized the gift of time, but also left a meaningful impact on their community and themselves, embodying the essence of making every moment count.
