Nagila 2023, Naaleh’s theatrical production held on Feb 8, was a huge success and is sure to leave a lasting impact on students, faculty and families. Under the guidance of Nagila’s writer and director, Kayla Rabinowich, “Win of a Lifetime” featured the efforts of almost all 190 Naaleh students who showcased their talents for an audience of close to 600 people.
The production featured an original script informed by the students’ choices and an original song composed by a Naaleh senior. The students choreographed the dances, arranged harmonies, pre-recorded musical dance tracks and were heavily involved in everything from the costumes and makeup, to the playbill, to the ticket sales. Avram Zamist of Motion Audio Visual and his team created a Broadway caliber theater in Naaleh’s ballroom, and Esther Pitterman accompanied the show with beautiful music. But it was the girls who filled the stage, shined under the bright lights and wowed the crowd all night with their acting, dancing and singing.
Weeks of preparation helped students discover strengths and resilience they never knew they had, and the production brought the entire Naaleh family together——students, faculty, moms, sisters, grandmothers——providing a touchstone that defines what Naaleh is really all about: Reaching higher.
