Naaleh Students Partner With Shalom Task Force

Last Wednesday, all of Naaleh dressed in purple, and the students had the opportunity to learn about healthy friendships and relationships through a program run by the Shalom Task Force Future Community Leaders program. Five 11th graders, Noa Avital, Michal Benovitz, Shoshana Berger, Adina Fishkin and Avigayil Korn, have been taking part in extensive training through Shalom Task Force, and they put together a comprehensive and meaningful day for the school. The girls arranged for Orah Chasan, a social worker from Shalom Task Force, to present to the girls about signs of healthy, unhealthy and abusive relationships, how to support friends who may be dealing with unhealthy relationships and how to maintain healthy boundaries. The girls then broke up into small groups and reviewed common friendship scenarios and how to identify and manage potentially unhealthy dynamics. In addition, the girls created several very successful fundraisers to help support the efforts of Shalom Task Force. The representatives from Shalom Task Force were so impressed by the engaging day of programming created by the Naaleh student representatives, as well as the insightful questions and high level of discussion from the entire student body.
