(Courtesy of The Jewish Home) Renowned film producer Nancy Spielberg paid a special visit to Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale, New Jersey, where she hosted a screening of her highly acclaimed documentary film “Above and Beyond.” Residents and staff had the unique opportunity to view the film and participate in a question and answer session with Spielberg herself.

“Above and Beyond” tells the remarkable story of a group of World War II pilots who volunteered to fight for Israel in the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The documentary has won numerous awards and accolades since its release in 2014, and Spielberg’s visit to the Jewish Home Assisted Living community provided an opportunity for residents to not only learn about the film but also to engage in a lively discussion with the filmmaker herself.

The event was attended by a diverse group of residents, including many with a keen interest in history, aviation, and filmmaking. After the screening, Spielberg graciously answered questions and engaged in conversations with residents, sharing personal anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the documentary.
