As part of a broad attempt to enable and inspire self-directed learning outside the classroom, students in tenth and eleventh grades participate in an annual academic fair, each year in a different discipline. This year’s fair was a Navi fair (last year was an English fair), and students were given wide latitude to conduct independent research and engage in creative thinking about a topic relevant to the Navi they studied this year (Yirmiyahu for juniors, Yeshayahu for sophomores). Students created cakes, poster boards, PowerPoints, even a newspaper—The Daily Prophet—to present their findings and perspectives in innovative ways.
