Netivot Shalom’s Famous Herring Festival Returns

(Courtesy of Netivot Shalom) After a three-year hiatus, the popular Teaneck tasting event is back and better than ever!

Treat your palate to a delectable assortment of tasty herring, fine vodkas and select single malt scotch at the 2018 Bergen County Herring Festival hosted by Congregation Netivot Shalom on Saturday, December 15 at 8 p.m.

Featuring herring selections presented by Maadan of Teaneck, Rockland Kosher of Monsey and Raskin’s of Brooklyn, the event will feature an array of delicacies, complemented by fine spirits. The evening is sure to tempt aficionados and newcomers alike.

“We’re excited to bring the Herring Festival back to Bergen County,” said Shanan Cohen, who is spearheading the event along with Noah Rothblatt and Barry Herzog. “It’s a fun night out, and a great way to explore new tastes and meet new people. It’s like kiddush on steroids! In fact, if it wasn’t for the Herring Festival, my wife and I might never have discovered Netivot Shalom, which has become a real home to us. My father-in-law attended his first herring festival in 2011 and was wowed by the event and community. He’s been clamoring for its return since 2015.”

Ten percent of the net proceeds will be donated to Jewish Family Services of Teaneck, so attendees can rest assured they are indulging for a good cause. Tickets are $55 in advance or $75 at the door. To RSVP and make payments online, go to www.netivotshalomnj.org/herring

Congregation Netivot Shalom is located at 811 Palisade Avenue, Teaneck, NJ.
