(Courtesy of Lamdeinu) The Gregorian calendar fell perfectly in line with the Jewish calendar this month. Sunday, the first day of the week, was also the first day of September as well as Rosh Chodesh Elul. It is truly a season of new beginnings, and each of us is energized to introspect and make fresh starts.
Lamdeinu’s Elul/September program, packed with inspiring classes about the High Holidays and the process of teshuva, prepares each of us for our own new beginnings with deep learning and spiritual awakening.
Lamdeinu was created over five years ago with the simple and impactful mission: “Study in Depth, Be Inspired.” Almost every week of the year, Lamdeinu offers an array of classes from Tanach to Talmud to Halachah, as well as numerous community-building events. Lamdeinu is especially proud of its pre-High Holiday learning that inspires our students to deeply engage with these special days of the Jewish calendar. Well over 100 students are now studying timely topics like “Elkanah and Channah: Explore the Haftarah of Rosh Hashanah, “Halachot and Minhagim of Erev Yom Kippur,” “Insights into Kohelet” and much more.
When Elul comes around we are called upon to stop, think and take action. Join Lamdeinu to challenge your heart and mind, to learn and to be inspired. The time to start is now and we would love to welcome you! Every class is self-contained and recorded so you can join at any time.
If you would like a taste of Lamdeinu, drop in for any class that intrigues you, or join Lamdeinu on Monday, September 23, at 8 p.m. for a shiur co-sponsored with the Beth Aaron Sisterhood titled “Unexpected Models of Teshuvah in Tanach” with Professor Nechama Price. You can also visit www.lamdeinu.org to see our full class offerings.
Lamdeinu invites you to join us now as we start the new year afresh! What a perfect time for new beginnings in learning! Join Lamdeinu now and be inspired!
