New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice to Speak at Young Israel of Fort Lee

This year, Yom HaShoah will be particularly meaningful for the membership of Young Israel of Fort Lee. The synagogue is honored to host New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice, Stuart Rabner, who will deliver the keynote address at its Holocaust commemoration event on May 4. Chief Justice Rabner is the son of two Holocaust survivors and as such, he is deeply committed to ensuring that future generations are educated about the atrocities of the Holocaust. His lecture is entitled “Holocaust Remembrance for the Next Generation.” Rabbi Zev Goldberg, rabbi of the Young Israel said, “We are truly honored that the Chief Justice is taking time out of his busy schedule to address our congregation. Justice Rabner is well known for his commitment to Holocaust education and we are looking forward to his insightful words.” The commemoration event will also include a candle-lighting ceremony with members of the congregation who are themselves survivors. The May 4 program begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public. For more information call the synagogue office at 201-592-1518.
