New Milford celebrated the 75th birthday of the state of Israel, with a gathering at its town hall, where Mayor Michael J. Putrino read a proclamation, lit up the gazebo in blue and white and raised the Israeli flag. Around 100 people attended the event, organized by the Israeli American Council (IAC). The event was part of the Blue and White Campaign, an annual IAC initiative, to light up various locations in blue and white in honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day. The campaign serves to celebrate the bond, and show solidarity, between the United States and Israel. This year’s celebrations were extra special as Israel celebrates her 75th birthday!
