Catch an end-of-semester student show now through June 16 at The Black Box Performing Arts Center, 200 Walraven Drive in Teaneck. Four productions featuring acting students from throughout Bergen County and beyond are on their feet each night, including The Adult Acting Workshop in Ken Ludwig’s Broadway farce Moon Over Buffalo, The Teen Drama Ensemble Workshop is Niko Tam’s stylized drama One Innocent Woman, The Musical Theater Workshop for Kids in a review of the songs of Stephen Sondheim and The Teen Musical Theater Ensemble Workshop’s rendition of segments from a famous rock musical. Coming Up at BBPAC

Meanwhile, throughout June most of each day at the new Performing Arts Center is set aside for rehearsals for Diana & Navy & The Golden Tooth, A New American Musical, with book & lyrics by Phoebe Nir and music by Tomas Doncker. BBPAC has been chosen to workshop this brand new piece geared towards tweens, teens and adults alike as it begins its journey toward Broadway. BBS’s Matt Okin is directing the cast of 17 professional actors, including some with Broadway credits and some BBS regulars in their professional debuts. Look out for details on the 10 performances, which will run every night between 6/22 and 6/30.

Summer Theater Classes

If you are seeking a bit of time in the spotlight for summer but booked at camp or work all day, consider signing up for one of a handful of theater or improv comedy intensives to be held at night, two times per week at BBPAC, from approximately 6/28 through 7/28: www.blackboxnynj.com.

Early Bird For 2016–17 Trimester Theater Workshops

Finally, Black Box Studios has just opened registration—with substantial “early bird” savings—for the entire 2016–17 season of theater workshops, their first in a new trimester format.
