NNJ Holocaust Memorial Center Plans ‘Garden to Nurture Human Understanding’

On Thursday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Teaneck Public Library, the lead architects from the Northern New Jersey Holocaust Memorial & Education Center along with the architects from the Enslaved African Memorial Committee and the Teaneck Public Library will be presenting their visions for the proposed Garden to Nurture Human Understanding, to be located on the Teaneck Municipal Green. This marks the first of many multicultural events to be held under a grant from the New Jersey Council on the Humanities and the first event co-sponsored by all three groups.

Representing the Enslaved African Memorial Committee will be their architect,� Rodney Leon, AIA. The Northern New Jersey Holocaust Memorial & Education Committee will be represented by Alan Hantman, FAIA, and Anthony Iovino, AIA, will represent the Teaneck Public Library.

Opening remarks will be given by New Jersey State Senator Loretta Weinberg and Teaneck Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin. The event is free and open to the public.
