On Thursday night November 19, the Noam Knights and the Moriah Mighty Ducks faced off on what could be the preview of this year’s championship. The Knights were coming off a dominant win versus Ramaz. Both squads were eager to score the first goal. As both teams settled down, the Knights’ Elliot Eisner deposited the first goal of the night off a wrap around on the side of the net. After recovering from the blow, the Mighty Ducks regained their confidence and scored off a ball dumped on net.
The Knights got their head back in the game when Eli Blumenfeld quickly broke the tie with a great shot from the point. Jake Rothenberg scored to make it 3-1, but the Knights knew that the Ducks were not going to go down without a fight. Early in the second period the Ducks went on the power play and Ari Baruch put home a shot from the point to make it 4-2. With strong defense by Yonatan Noar, Jacob Hershenov and Eli Blumenfeld, the Knights shut down the Ducks’ offense. Elliot Eisner cashed in two more times to close out the game with a hat-trick and a final score of 5-2. Thanks to the incredible goaltending of Charles Gibber, the Knights prevailed, and improved to 3-0 on the season.
