Noam Sixth Grade Girls Hockey

The season got off to a bumpy start, after losing our first two games we had to re-focus our efforts and play as a team. After the second defeat our coaches stressed that alone we were a group of individuals, each with individual talents and individual weaknesses. If we continued to play as individuals it would be a long season. At that point, with the help and guidance of our amazing coaches, we became a team.

Game number three saw us defeat a talented Westchester Day School team by a score of 8 – 2. After two more hard fought victories against local rivals, Yavneh Academy and Moriah, we earned a playoff spot against a very good SAR team.

We knew the playoff game was going to be action packed and it did not disappoint. After the game, Noam Forward Avigail Keiser said, “I have never experienced a more intense game; it was a back-and- forth battle for the ball.”  Sadly, after fighting so hard, we came up on the short end of a 2-1 final score.

Looking back at a fantastic season, we are filled with confidence and excitement for the future. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful coaches: Elisheva and Romy Koenig and Elisheva Wrubel. They did a terrific job teaching us how to play together as a team. We would also like to thank our fantastic goalies, Rachel Fischman and Danit Forman, along with all of our incredible teammates who made this season unforgettable.
