On Sunday morning, Susan and Daniel Turk hosted a NORPAC pro-Israel event for Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) at their home in Teaneck. Bill Pascrell represents parts of northern New Jersey that include Englewood and Paterson, the latter having the largest concentration of Palestinian Americans in the country.

First elected in 1996, Pascrell currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the first committee established in the U.S. Congress, overseeing numerous economic issues including Social Security, taxes, Medicare, health policy and international trade. As of 2017, Bill is also the ranking member on the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade.

During the event, Congressman Pascrell recalled his visits to Israel and his meetings with high-ranking Palestinian officials to facilitate the release of Israeli prisoners. He has also been working this year to bolster the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which provides security funds to private schools and houses of worship, in response to growing anti-Semitism.

Bill Pascrell is currently serving his 10th term in the U.S. Congress and will be running for re-election in November.
