(Courtesy of NORPAC) On Tuesday evening, the Goodman family hosted a NORPAC event in Teaneck for Congressman Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ). His district encompasses portions of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties, including Bergenfield, Fair Lawn, New Milford, Paramus and Teaneck.
During the event, Gottheimer expressed dismay at what he claimed was a “watered down” resolution in the House of Representatives condemning remarks made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that sparked controversy for what many organizations claimed were “dual loyalty canards” against the Jewish people. Several Jewish lawmakers met with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, including Gottheimer, to keep the language of the bill focused on anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic remarks, rather than making it a catch-all resolution including anti-Muslim and anti-white supremacy clauses.
