NORPAC Hosts Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) in Teaneck

(Courtesy of NORPAC) On Sunday afternoon, Yael and Rabbi Steven Weil hosted a NORPAC pro-Israel event for Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) at their home in Teaneck.

Peter J. Roskam currently serves as the chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax Policy, the chairman of the House Democracy Partnership, and co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus. Additionally, Congressman Roskam is co-chair of the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating anti-Semitism, and a member of the bipartisan Israel Allies Caucus and the Congressional Hellenic Israel Alliance.

During the event, Congressman Roskam addressed the crowd at a round-table discussion on U.S.-Israel relations. He was a strong critic of the 2015 Iran Deal (JCPOA), which aimed to slow Tehran’s development of a nuclear arsenal. Roskam expressed concern over Iran’s compliance with the JCPOA and felt that the agreement is starting to unravel, even as President Trump announced that he will make a final decision to act on the deal in May of this year.

Peter Roskam is currently serving his sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives and will be running for re-election this year.
