Englewood—Naomi and Dr. Daniel Feuer hosted Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) in their Englewood home for a NORPAC event. Since being elected to the U.S. Congress in 2012, Rep. Meadows has been a consistent supporter of Israel. Recently, Rep. Meadows played a key role in passing the Hezbollah International Financing Prevention Act, a bill designed to place sanctions on Hezbollah and all those who engage in transactions with the terrorist organization. The U.S. Senate is set to vote for this bill’s counterpart next week.
At the NORPAC event, Meadows told the crowd about his recent trip to Israel just a few weeks before. During this trip, the representative engaged with both civilians and military personnel, reporting that it is clear that the rise in terrorism is not Israel’s fault, as there is no aggression coming from the Israeli police force and military.
Rep. Meadows emphasized that Israel is showing great restraint while facing terrorism and hatred. He repeatedly underlined the importance in publicizing the truth about Israel in any way that we can in order to dispel all misconceptions about the current conflict often found in the media.
In addition, Rep. Meadows affirmed that he stands with both Israel and the Jewish people. He told the crowd that he is committed to protecting both U.S. and Israeli citizens, saying, “We cannot operate in the spirit of fear.”
