(Courtesy of NORPAC) On Sunday evening, Marion and William Weiss welcomed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) to a NORPAC event in Englewood.
Hyde-Smith, serving her first term in the Senate as a governor-appointee, sits on the Senate Committees on Appropriations; Agriculture; Nutrition and Forestry; Energy and Natural Resources; and Rules and Administration.
In 2018, as a member of the Appropriations Committee, Senator Hyde-Smith voted in favor of the United States-Israel Security Assistance Authorization Act of 2018 (S.2497), providing $3.3 billion for military aid for Israel. This year, she voted in favor of S.1 to continue aid to Israel, and also enact measures to counteract the BDS movement.
Senator Hyde-Smith will be up for re-election in November 2020.
