Ohr Saadya Kids Visit CareOne Residents on Sukkot

(Courtesy of Ohr Saadya) The children of Congregation Ohr Saadya visited the residents at CareOne for a Sukkot gathering on Friday, October 14. Children from second to sixth grade got to know residents and worked with them on a project to decorate pots and plant flowers. Everyone took home a plant to care for over the fall and winter. After the activity, the children joined CareOne’s Sukkot carnival.

Ninth grade Ma’ayanot High School student Abigail Braunstein and eighth grade Yeshivat Noam student Aderet Cyrulnik organized the event.

“The kids were super helpful, polite and friendly,” said Rachel Cyrulnik, Aderet’s mom, who came to lend a hand the day of the event. “It was really special and heartwarming to see these young children find commonalities with the seniors and see how they loved their first encounter with volunteering.”
