On Sunday morning, September 15, Congregation Ohr Torah in Edison will host Rav Yossi Sprung for a special shiur on complex medical situations and fasting on Yom Kippur.

The shiur will take place at 8:45 a.m. (after the 8 a.m. minyan) in the beis midrash. Rabbi Sprung is a musmach of Rav Asher Weiss and serves as the rosh beit midrash of Beit Medrash Govoha for Medical Halacha, associated with the Technion American Medical School in Haifa.

Rabbi Sprung sends out a weekly medical halacha email (in English and Hebrew) that is read by hundreds of doctors and other medical professionals. He has organized medical halacha conferences all over the world. Rabbi Sprung is also the founder and dean of the Institute for Halachic Implications of Emerging Technologies.
